GENERAL INFORMATION
Rooibos is a fynbos species within the Cape Floral Kingdom, one of only six recognized floral kingdoms of the world. The plant is indigenous to the Cedarberg region and is the only place in the world where the plant grows naturally. The plants' name comes from the fine, needle-like leaves that turn red when they are fermented. Rooibos is not a true tea, but an herb.

Rooibos is a good source of antioxidants and is the only known source of a potent antioxidant called aspalathin while also containing others like nothofagin, vitexin, isovitex, orientin, isooreintin, luteolin and quercetin. Rooibos tea is rich in several minerals including iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc and sodium, as well as trace elements like copper, manganese and fluoride. Pure and natural it contains no additives or preservatives. It is a naturally calming substance and help to maintain healthy skin, teeth and bones.

Peppermint as it is known today is a hybrid of water mint crossed with spearmint. Of all species of mint, peppermint contains the most menthol, a phytochemical that helps calm muscle spasms throughout the body, improve digestion and relieve headache and nausea.

Peppermint is rich in phenolic compounds, meaning that peppermint has antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The herb also contains a large amount of flavonoids and tannins. Peppermint has digestive and antispasmodic properties. Peppermint is taken internally for problems associated with bloating, sluggish digestion, belching, flatulence and inadequate bile secretion.
